The name of the course that we are doing is ¨DFM¨, ¨Diseño de fabricación mecanica¨, in English it wuold be ¨Mechanical Design and Manufacturing¨.
The course takes part in Maristas, Durango.
In this course they teach us about fisics, geometry, materials and resistances, how to draw with computer programes that are usually used in bussinesses...
We work in groups of 4 people , along the course there are some challenges that we have to complete. We have individual exams and works but we also have work in groups, and it is better face the work and the challenges with more people arround, because you can learn things that you don´t know and you learn how to work in group.
For take a work we have a wheel with some parts of how to work, in that wheel there is all the information for our project and then we start taking some part of the job.
You also have a computer where you can search information on internet, the main propose of the computer is to make 3D pieces and some planes form that pieces.
Some of the skills you need to have to follow this course, are being able to see in 3D, know how to make planes and 3D pieces in paper among other things. You also have to know
I think that personaly will gain some experience with this type of programes and also a little bit of work experience.
The final product of the course is to design a die cutter between all the people in the group.
During the course we also have to create a business and create a blogg.
The previous year we learnt how to use some workshop machines to make some pieces and how to use some 3D machines, ande this year we are going to learn how to use a machine that masure the pieces, the ¨Three-dimensional machine¨.
During the course we have used a lot of diferent materials, like wood, ABS, steel, but this year the main materials that we are going to use is steel and sheet, because we have to do a die and it have to be strong, so for that reason we use these strong materials.
